Hey Everyone!
Just a few things for today.....
It is my last 4 hours of work until my FAMILY VACATION and I am filled with excitement and anticipation. Thanks in advance goes to Jake and Matt for taking care of my place Jack, Honey (The Fish) and Josh (the frog). I hope you guys have a good time living it up at my pad. Make sure you take the porn out of the DVD though before I get home so I don't get blamed for it. HA Ha! I am packed and ready to go. Just a few more errands to run and I'm all set.
Yesterday I bought a lot of new CDs. Here is the list and review.
1) Advanced copy of The Suicide Machines (War Profiteering is Killing Us All) not due in store until August 9th. This CDS IT FUCKING GREAT. It reminds me of the old Suicide Machines (Destruction by Definition) that first got me into punk rock. I can tell that I will know the lyrics to this one in no time at all.
2) Tribute to Sublime - Another excellent CD. Artists from all ends of the spectrum have gotten together and added their own special touch to Bradley's masterpieces. So far my favorite tracks are the Jack Johnson remake of Badfish, Fishbone's, Date Rape, and Ozomotli's April 26, 1992. I will be rocking this at the beach all week.
3) Sublime Acoustic (Bradley Nowell and Friends) This CD has a unpolished feel (mainly because they are all live recordings at bars and house parties), but the you can hear the emotion and feeling in each note that Brad sings. I love it!
4) The Violent Femmes - (Greatest Hits) Do I really need to write anything about this? The Femmes are the best. Enough Said.
5) Rancid - (Out come the Wolves) A classic CD for any punker. I used to have a copy but it was stolen so when I was in R&T yesterday you know I couldn't pass it up when I saw a used copy of it for 5 bucks.
I love new music.
I have decided that My IPOD will be purchased after vacation. Then, the possibilities will be endless.
Everyone have an excellent week and I will see some of you after I get back from vacation.
I'M OUT!
"early in the mornin,
risin to the street.
Light me up that Mary Jane.
I got no shoes on my feet."
